Overview

Noelle Salon is a Boston salon known for hair extensions, hair-loss solutions, trichotillomania services and smoothing treatments. Almost every new client starts with a search — "hair extensions Boston", "hair loss salon Boston" — and, increasingly, with a question typed into Google's AI results or ChatGPT.

TheGenieLab first moved Noelle Salon onto Shopify from WooCommerce, consolidating two domains and importing the salon's full blog archive (read the migration case study). The store worked. The content didn't. Hundreds of migrated articles were thin, promotional and structured for a search landscape that no longer existed.

Starting in January 2026, Noelle Salon has run its content program on TheGenieLab's own AI SEO Content Rewriter for Shopify (AI ReWrite) — and its feedback shaped much of what the app ships today.

Challenge

Legacy content was invisible to Google and to AI
  • ~295 pages flagged "content not optimized" for AI search — mostly migrated blog posts written as sales copy, with no question-and-answer structure for AI systems to extract.
  • An indexing hole. A noindex issue inherited across theme changes had excluded roughly 3,800 URLs in Google Search Console. As pages fell out of the index, referring sites began dropping their backlinks.
  • Over 15,000 audit warnings (Semrush, February 2026), including ~1,500 links with non-descriptive anchor text, long title elements and blocked internal resources.
  • Diluted local authority. Overlapping /pages/, /collections/ and /products/ URLs competed for the same core keywords, and too many pages had only one internal link pointing at them.
  • Generic AI tools weren't the answer. The salon had already tried a third-party AI SEO subscription; the content it produced didn't move the audit, and cancelling it was a struggle.

Manual rewriting of hundreds of articles wasn't realistic for a salon team. The store needed a way to see which pieces of content were weakest, fix them at scale, and publish safely without breaking URLs that were finally being re-indexed.

Solution

Score everything, rewrite what matters, publish safely

AI ReWrite runs inside the Shopify admin and treats every article, page and product as its own item in a five-step pipeline:

  • Sync Articles, pages and products sync from Shopify, each with its own queue.
  • Score Every item gets a 0–100 content health score.
  • Rewrite Keywords, prompts and search intent drive a type-specific rewrite.
  • Verify Prompt coverage is checked; a fix pass runs if anything falls short.
  • Publish Safe publish with automatic redirects on handle changes.
Solution

Rather than generating new copy from scratch, the app restructured the salon's existing expertise: clear headings, FAQ blocks answering real client queries, problem/solution breakdowns, and an informational tone that AI systems can quote. Titles, URL handles, meta descriptions and image alt text were rewritten in the same pass. Within weeks, articles like the salon's Brazilian-knots guide and its "leading experts" post had shifted from pure promotion to structured, educational answers — and the audit started to move.

  6. App

Store-wide GEO audit for articles, pages and products, with Product Intelligence and publish safety.

  7. Noelle Salon

Un-optimized content at 10. AI Search Health 86%. Site Health 90%. Empty-link issues in five articles fixed and diff-verified on the live store.

What's next for Noelle Salon

The audit is also honest about the remaining work: 264 pages sit four or more clicks deep, ~80 pages still have only one internal link, 13 URLs are blocked from AI crawlers, and 16 empty links remain in theme templates (homepage, blog index and two collection buttons), to be re-checked after the next crawl. The next phase uses AI ReWrite's internal-link suggestions to connect supporting articles to a small set of local pillar pages — extensions, hair loss, trichotillomania and smoothing — in Boston.

Now rolling out

Bulk rewrites for every Shopify migration

Noelle Salon's story started with a migration — and that's where most stores lose ground. Content arrives from WooCommerce, Magento or BigCommerce in the shape the old platform needed, not the shape Google and AI answer engines reward on Shopify. Fixing it afterwards takes months.

So we're building it into the move itself. On TheGenieLab migrations, AI ReWrite now runs bulk rewrites per content category — all articles, all pages, or all products — right after import:

  • Pick the model

Choose the AI model used for each rewrite in the job.

  • Choose what to rewrite

Title, URL handle, meta description and image alt text.

  • Automatic prompt refinement

Tuned to each item's search intent.

  • Team notes

Pass priorities or brand constraints to the job.

  • CSV confirmation

Emailed on completion, with redirects created for every changed handle.

The result

A store that launches on Shopify already scored, structured and AI-search-ready — instead of spending its first year recovering rankings.
